It's Easter weekend! Here are Economoms' picks for the best budget-conscious family activities in the Baltimore area over the long weekend, Friday, April 6 through Monday, April 9, 2012:

All Weekend
  • 17 Easter Events - Including Ride the Rails with the B&O Easter Bunny, Milburn Orchards Egg Hunts, Cromwell Valley Park Easter Egg Hunt, kids eat FREE at Applebee's, and lots more!
  • Discounts to 16 Family-Friendly Baltimore Attractions - Use anytime throughout 2012 to places like Port Discovery, the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, Urban Pirates, and more!
Saturday
  • Drop-In Art Activity at the Walters - Every Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. A different theme each month. April's theme is From the Jungles to the Mountains. FREE!
  • Storytime with Miss Bonnie - Greetings and Readings in Hunt Valley, 11 a.m. each Saturday. Also Wednesdays at 11 a.m.
  • Rapunzel - Puppet Co. Playhouse in Glen Echo, 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. showtimes on Saturday and Sunday. $10 per ticket.
Sunday
  • Baltimore Farmer's Market - Every Sunday underneath the Jones Falls Expressway at Holliday & Saratoga streets, 7 a.m.-noon.
  • Drop-In Art Activity at the Walters - Every Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. A different theme each month. April's theme is From the Jungles to the Mountains. FREE!
  • Train Rides at Leakin Park - Second Sunday of each month. FREE, but donations encouraged.
  • Rapunzel - Puppet Co. Playhouse in Glen Echo, 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. showtimes on Saturday and Sunday. $10 per ticket.
  • Family Sunday at the BMA - Every Sunday, 2-5 p.m. A different theme each month. Aprils's theme is Spring in the American Wing. FREE!
