What do Coach Falcon's Fit Bodies Boot Camp and Port Discovery Children's Museum have in common? Absolutely nothing! Except that I scored both for 50% off today ... One deal for me and one deal for my family. I think that's fair, don't you?!
Port Discovery
Certifikid, the only local daily deal site targeted specifically toward children, is the first to my knowledge to bring Port Discovery to the bargain scene.
I kid you not, on Sunday, after Todd and I had taken Macy to the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore (using a Groupon we had purchased earlier this fall), I said to him as we drove past Port Discovery: "We really need to get Macy there one of these weekends. I wonder if they'll ever do a deal."
Jump to Tuesday morning and Certifikid is promoting 50% off admission tickets. FATE!
Pay just $7 per person for admission (two ticket maximum) for use Sundays through Thursdays until March 2012. Kids under 2 are FREE, which means my whole family will be visiting Port Discovery for just $14! I can't wait to take Macy to Tot Trails, their exhibit just for babies and toddlers.
Alternatively, you can also score a great deal at Port Discovery by visiting the third Friday of each month for $2 Family Fun Night from 4-7 p.m.. Or, visit on Thrifty Thursdays, when admission is $8 per person after 1 p.m.
Coach Falcon's Boot Camps
Fate of sorts also brought me to this deal. See, it's been 10 months since I had Macy, and gosh darn it! ... I still haven't lost the baby weight. Everyone always tells me: "It took nine months to gain it; don't expect to lose it any quicker." Well, it's been longer than nine months since she was born, so take note: That old adage no longer brings me any comfort!
Enter last month's LivingSocial deal for Coach Falcon's Fit Body Boot Camp. Two things led me to purchase it: 1) He offers classes at 5:30 a.m. I've resigned to the fact that with a baby, a day job, and getting my MBA, early mornings are the only way to squeeze workouts in. And 2) It's close by my house. If I'm going to wake up that early, I better not have to drive far!
After taking a month of Coach Falcon's classes, two more things have kept up my motivation to keep going besides the fact that he has a cool name: 1) He makes me laugh. Again, if I'm going to wake up that early, I better be having some sort of fun. 2) The classes are small and I get individualized attention. (Now, I know by posting this I run the risk of those classes getting bigger, but that's just how devoted of an Economom I am to you guys ... Hee hee!)
So, with all that being said, get off your booty and buy today's deal from Plum District Baltimore, the daily deal site dedicated to us moms. For $50 you get unlimited boot camp classes with Coach Falcon at the Coppermine Fieldhouse in Mount Washington.
The deal is valid through January 2012 -- perfect for getting a jumpstart on that perennial New Year's resolution. I just bought mine since it's not restricted to new customers. Woohoo!

Check Out the Deal I Just Scored: $7 FlexJobs Membership
As if I need to add something else to my plate ... Between Economoms, going back to school for my MBA, working full-time, taking care of a seven-month old baby, and attempting to fit couples time and me time in, there really aren't that many hours left in the day for anything else.
But, I'm one of those freaks that thrives (and then subsequently crashes every couple months!) on having a full plate, so I decided to take advantage of Plum District's latest deal: $7 for a one-month membership to FlexJobs, a $15 value.
Disclaimer: Plum District is an advertising partner with Economoms; however, they in no way sponsored this post. I purchased the FlexJobs deal for my own, personal use with no incentive from Plum District.

As the name implies, FlexJobs is a professional job service that helps you find flexible jobs. It's ideal for moms because many of the jobs are part-time, telecommuting, or freelance. There's lots of assurances on their website that each job is hand-screened and legitimate.
Soooo, I'm thinking I could possibly find some freelance writing jobs to do in my 5 minutes of spare time per day. At $7 for the monthly subscription, even if this well-devised plan (insert sarcasm here) doesn't pan out with some new side gigs, at least I learned about a cool, new service.
What do you think? Will you try it?

Check Out the Deal I Just Scored! $12 for $30 Worth at The Crackpot
When a date night makes an appearance on our calendar, it's inevitable that we'll end up at The Crackpot for a night cap. Not only is it right down the street from our house, it's the perfect hole in the wall bar where every bartender knows your name (We love you Kevin!!).
This Towson mainstay has been around for over 40 years. It's never had a facelift, and we like it that way! It's casual, bustling and the food is yummy.
While The Crackpot likes to brag about it's gargantuan 20 ounce crabcake, we prefer the burgers, wings and sinful cheese and bacon fries. It's not a place for dieters! But again, we like it that way -- especially when it's date night!
With my love for The 'Pot (as us regulars call it), you can easily see why I snatched up today's Baltimore Eversave deal: $12 for $30 worth of food and drinks! The deal (affiliate link) is actually running for $15, but with promo code SHARE at checkout, you can take off $3, bringing your total down to $12.
Be forewarned: you cannot use this deal on steamed crabs!
It just so happens we're planning on playing some tennis and going to the pool baby free on Wednesday evening. I know where we'll stop to grab dinner! I'll just have to resist those cheese fries ......

Check Out the Deal I Just Scored! $5 Movie Tix
I'm super excited that Plum District -- the daily deal site that touts themselves as by moms for moms -- now has Baltimore-specific specials! Up until now I've been watching their online national deals, but not much has caught my attention. Until today that is .....
Today's Baltimore deal is $5 tickets to Regal Entertainment Group. When I get the rare chance to go to a movie, I usually hit up Hunt Valley Stadium 12, which is owned by Regal. There are also Regal locations in Bel Air, Glen Burnie, Columbia, and Westminster.
Soooo, I now have date night plans that cost me just $10 total! Normally, one ticket alone runs about $10. I purchased a similar deal a few weeks ago, in which I scored two Fandango movie tickets for just $9. This voucher expires September 9, 2011, whereas Plum District's deal has no expiration date. So I'll be sure to use the Fandango tickets first and save the others for later! The only limitation is that you can only buy two.

Check Out the Deal I Just Scored! 66% Off Juicy Couture
This is a new feature where I'll be sharing all of the great deals I score for me and my family (mostly me) through daily deal and flash sale websites.
Today's purchase was completely impulsive and probably somewhat stupid. But it was too good of a deal to resist!
Like a gazillion other moms out there, I'm on the quest to find the perfect bathing suit. You know, the one that makes me look like I did BEFORE I had my child?
Well, I've had my eye on those one-piece vintage-inspired pin-up babe numbers with the little mini skirts for awhile. And one popped up on Rue La La (affiliate link) today from Juicy Couture! I'm hoping it's the right amount of coverage with just that hint of sexiness that won't make me feel like a complete mom.
And then the cover-up? Well, I just threw that in for fun because it was such a great discount! Check it out:

Juicy Couture "Miss Softie" Swim Dress - Regularly $190 marked down to $79.90 on Rue La La (affiliate link). That's 58% off!
Juicy Couture "Miss Softie" Tile Smocked Cover Up - Regularly $116, marked down to $39.90 on Rue La La (affiliate link). That's 66% off!
Now, I know you probably think I'm crazy for purchasing a bathing suit without trying it on, but I'm betting on a few things:
1) I've worn Juicy before so I know that it runs small. Translation - I ordered a large!
2) It's a fact I can't wear any other swimwuit style than a halter. Translation - "The twins" need some major lifting!
3) The ruching on the sides and the skirt on the bottom will be flattering. Translation - It will cover up my post-baby rolls (hopefully!).
Wish me luck!

Check Out the Deal I Just Scored! Rashguard Suit 35% Off
This is a new feature where I'll be sharing all of the great deals I score for me and my family through daily deal and flash sale websites. Check out today's fabulous find! A Coolies one-piece rashguard suit for $22.99.
As a new mom, I think the one thing I've discovered that absolutely drives me bonkers is applying sunscreen to my daughter. I HATE putting sunscreen on myself, let alone a wiggling six month old that turns into a slimy, sticky mess.
Nonetheless, sunscreen is an absolutely MUST! So I'm really looking forward to getting the new rashguard in the mail that I ordered for Macy today. It's UPF 50+ with 97.5% UV sun protection and will cover up her arms, legs, neck and torso. That leaves just a tiny area I need worry about applying sunscreen to, thank goodness:
This suit and many other adorable ones for boys and girls is being offered by Zulily (affiliate link) through Tuesday, June 28 at 9 a.m. It's normally priced at $36, but I got it for $22.99. Not a HUGE sale, but worth it I think for the peace of mind I'll have as we take Macy to the pool this summer. Plus, the wetsuit style fabric will keep her warmer from the chilly water!
