Our Chick-fil-A Giveaway Winners!

When it comes to kids and eating healthy, a little creativity can go a long way toward sneakily slipping in those vitamins and nutrients that are so important to development and growth. Chick-fil-A has taken this approach with their new GRILLED chicken nugget kids meals.

By taking the traditionally breaded and fried nuggets and gilling them, they've come up with a kids meal that has up to 85% less fat than other fast food options! Way to go Chick-fil-A!

Today, we're excited to announce the five lucky moms who won our flash giveaway for a free grilled chicken nuggets kids meal. But first, here are some of the ways you told us how you creatively lighten up the food in your family's kitchen. Some of these are new to me, and I'm so excited to try them!

• Substitute apple sauce for oil, yogurt for sour cream, and whole wheat flour for white flour
• Use lean ground turkey or chicken instead of beef
• Cut the mayo from your sandwich and use avocado or hummus instead
• Keep a bag of frozen spinach in the freezer. Grab a handful, puree, and add into almost anything, like spaghetti sauce, smoothies, bread, and meatballs. (Can't wait to start incorporating this one into my cooking!)
• Choose whole grain breads and pastas over those made with white flour. Or use spaghetti squash instead of pasta!
• Make hot cocoa with fat free evaporated milk, or substitute Ovaltine for chocolate syrup when making chocolate milk
• Water down juices to cut sugar and carbs

If you happened to catch the viral video from a couple weeks ago of the pink, gooey mystery meat that McDonald's pumps into their chicken nuggets, you were probably just as disgusted as me at the thought of this being a little one's so-called nutritious dinner on the run.

Therefore, our entry requirement for you to 'share' the post about our biggest giveaway yet ($650 worth of Ashley Michelle Photography!) just isn't going to work.

Ashley shot my family a few weeks ago to document Macy's baptism. After being up for nearly eight hours with no nap, Macy was in NO mood to have her picture taken. And yet, I have so many photos that are contenders for this year's holiday card. Not to mention the ones that will be hanging on my walls or given as Christmas gifts. You can (enviably!) check them out at the bottom of this post.

Here's how to enter:

1) By 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, tag yourself in this picture on Ashley Michelle Photography's Facebook page. Please note, you have to 'like' Ashley Michelle Photography on Facebook before you can tag yourself in the picture.

2) Each person who shared the giveaway will have a graphic with his/her name in it posted to the Ashley Michelle Photo Facebook page under an album called Economoms' Giveaway.

3) Contestants should then send emails, Facebook messages, share the album, etc. to all of their friends and family. Friends and family can help them win by:

B. Liking the graphic of the contestant's name they are helping to win

Celtic Tide Creations Christmas in July Giveaway!
